A great beginning...

The inaugural ceremony of our Economics Association was held on 28th July 2021, which is also celebrated as “WORLD NATURE CONSERVATION DAY”. The ceremony was conducted virtually on Google meet platform at 3pm. The ceremony was endowed by the presence of the Chief guest Mrs. Shubhangi Vartak ma'am. She is a retired associate professor of RJ College, Mumbai. The ceremony commenced post seeking blessings from the Almighty. The head of Economics Department, Dr. Shubhangi Patil then addressed the gathering. She highlighted on how even in this pandemic one can continue to learn and grow with a positive perspective. She also announced that very soon our Economics Association is going to have its very own website. Adding to that she introduced the bright core members of the association. Now it was time for the most awaited moment, the revelation of our association's logo! This logo was selected out of many entries that were received in the pre-event, Logo Making Competition. Ms. Mansi Morajkar, a student of K.J. Somaiya's Junior college, won this competition and her logo was selected as our official logo. Our host then invited the chief guest of the day Mrs. Shubhangi Vartak madam to embrace the gathering with her guidance. Madam congratulated Mansi and appreciated the logo. She then gave her blessings for the new journey of our department. Madam's insights on importance of leadership, innovation, management and inner-strength were highly valued by the students. Later on, to celebrate the “WORLD NATURE CONSERVATION DAY”, a speech with an informative presentation was given by one of the core team members. A short film “How to save our planet” was also showed on the occasion. At the end of the ceremony, our Principal Dr. Veena Sanekar madam congratulated us all for the commencement of our newly formed association. She was highly enthusiastic about the first ever student-made website of the college. She was pleased with all the hard work done by the Professors and the committee members. The ceremony was a huge success and was surely a perfect beginning of our Economics Association.
