The main purpose of the event was to create awareness about waste management and plastic recycling among the masses.

The event was commenced by the host, followed by a short introduction of what plastic recycling is. A brief and precise introduction of the resource person Mr Manojkumar Mishra was given by Dr. Shubhangi Patil, Head of Economics Department K J Somaiya College of Arts and Commerce. After a very elaborate session on the ways of recycling plastic and the benefits of doing so, the resource person took an interactive session with all the participants and answered all their questions very effectively. He guided everyone on how his association works in collaboration with Bintix Waste Research. He also shared some of his work wherein they made useful products from the waste and further guided the students on how they can be a part of the project. The question-and-answer session was then followed by a vote of thanks by Dr Sunil Chandanshive, Assistant professor Department of Economics K J SOMAIYA.

Mr. Manojkumar Mishra is a civil engineer. He has completed his bachelor's in engineering from the University of Mumbai and is a recipient of the National Talent Search Examination. He has several years of work experience and has worked in various institutions like Sunrise Civico Pvt. Ltd., Antony Environmental Solution Ltd. and is currently a Project Coordinator at Sampuran Earth Environmental Solution Pvt. Ltd.
