This skill mismatch makes the youth unemployed . Hence because of these reasons the National Skill Development Corporation India (NSDC) was established in the year 2009. The NSDC aims to promote skill development by catalyzing creation of large quality and for profit vocational institutions. The prime objective of NSDC is to empower the youth of our country with adequate set of skills which will enable their employment in relevant sectors and also improve productivity. In 2020 the unemployment rate was 10.20 % , currently the unemployment rate in 2023 is 7.95 %. If we take the point of Unemployment and unemployability it's a very different topic where Unemployment is related to core Economics Term but unemployability is how much a person is employable to a firm, today a Huge chucnk of the Indian Population do have a degree but lack skills this can be blamed on old curriculum that universities across the country still follow, The best example of this I found on VIT syllabus, along with a Btech Degree students in SY have to learn, a Class 12 Ncert Economics & Accountancy on that basis these students some times are hired on Core financial or Research Internships, this Curriculum may open a new Field to a student to pursue and Name Tag Colleges would get their Students place in such noncore Engineering Jobs, but due to this they lack a basic Skills and huge investment had to made on their training by the company, this Concept can be called as a unemployability.

The establishment and the apprentice both sign an apprenticeship contract before the apprentice begins his or her instruction. After a brief period of classroom (theoretical) instruction, they receive on-the-job (practical) training. The National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS), a program of Skill India, is responsible for carrying out the programme. It gives young people in various areas the chance to receive on-the-job training and gives them the means to improve their standard of living.
The Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) program is one of the MSDE's (Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship) initiatives. This skill certification program intends to motivate many young people in India to obtain industry-relevant skill training so they will be capable of finding the proper employment to sustain their living.
Modern Model Training Centers called Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK) are planned to offer competency-based skill development training. To establish such Model Training Centers, NSDC will offer financial support. Up to 75% of the project investment will be made available as a low-interest secured loan through each center. The money can only be used to pay for infrastructure costs associated with training, such as the acquisition of tools, machinery, and equipment, training materials, and other relevant products, as well as for civil work like erecting prefabricated buildings and remodeling existing ones. In addition, depending to the capacity and use of the center and the common guidelines, NSDC will offer operational support by guaranteeing a training mandate for three years under the PMKVY program.

NSDC is a one-of-a-kind model with advice-thought-out underlying philosophy based on the following pillars:
1. Develop: Proactively stimulate the development of major, high-quality vocational training institutes.

3. Facilitate the establishment and maintenance of necessary support structures for skill development. Sector Skill Councils led by industry are included.
Goals of NSDC are -
1.Develop required frameworks for standards, curriculum, and quality assurance, as well as upgrade skills to worldwide standards with strong industry involvement.
2.Improve, assist, and coordinate the private sector Initiatives for skill development using appropriate Public-Private Partnership (PPP) models; aspire for strong operational and financial participation from the private sector.
3. Play the role of a "market-maker" by bringing money, especially in industries where market processes are weak or absent.

The National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development is a premier organization of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, engaged in training, consultancy, research and publication in order to promote entrepreneurship and Skill Development.
The head office of the Institute is situated in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. It is established in an area of 10,000 sq. meters with about 40,000 sq. feet of built up area. The infrastructure comprises of 8 class rooms, 1 auditorium, and 1 conference hall, besides library. There is also a hostel consisting of 32 rooms, and other facilities.
The institute has a Regional Centre located at Dehradun which operates from NSTI Dehradun premises. New employment opportunities are opened up when the youth acquires new skills. This helps in facilitating social mobility. Skill development helps youth from all the backgrounds to compete in the job market by giving them an equal opportunity. Currently India is facing a paradoxical situation wherein the youths are in search of job opportunities on one hand and on the other hand the industtries are suffering from availablility of skilled workers. This skill mismatch makes the youth unemployed . Hence because of these reasons the National Skill Development Corporation India (NSDC) was established in the year 2009. The NSDC aims to promote skill development by catalyzing creation of large quality and for profit vocational institutions. The prime objective of NSDC is to empower the youth of our country with adequate set of skills which will enable their employment in relevant sectors and also improve productivity. The Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), Udaan, Rozgar Mela, Residential Entrepreneurship Development Program (REDP), Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP), Technical Residential Entrepreneurship Development Program (TREDP), Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendras, etc are some of the schemes, initiatives, and programs of the NSDC and Maharashtra centre for entrepreneurship skill enhncement. In 2020 the unemployment rate was 10.20 % , currently the unemployment rate in 2023 is 7.95 %. As we say it,"it's better late than never", India has finally started to give significant importance to skill development and self reliance. It was 2015, when government of India launched different policies and missions to work in this direction. National skill development, Make in India, Atma Nirbhar Bharat, Entrepreneurship Development cells, etc are all babies of the same mission/program. It aims at blending in with the formal education process and also provide essential external assistance.
