Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) and Tata Power Mumbai Distribution signs power purchase agreement (PPA) to develop 80 MW firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) project
This deal will ensure the supply of 80 Megawatts (MW) clean and dispatchable green energy integrating solar, wind, and battery storage systems so electricity can be dispatched reliable during hours of peak demand.
This project is aimed to be completed within 24 months and is expected to generate nearly 315 million units (MUs) of electricity annually, reducing around 0.25 million (2.5 lakhs) tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year. Making Mumbai’s energy supply more reliable and reduce its dependence on fossil fuels like coal.
The clean energy generated from this project will be integrated in Tata Power’s Mumbai distribution benefiting 8 lakh customers with low-emission clean electricity. This project also boosts India’s long-term renewable energy goals.
