"India & Qatar Seal Strategic Partnership, Address Israel-Palestinian Crisis in Key Talks"

India and Qatar have strengthened their relationship by forming a strategic partnership and discussed the Israel-Palestinian conflict during their talks.

On February 18, 2025, Qatar and India signed an agreement to upgrade their relationship to a strategic partnership. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Qatar's Amir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani discussed key issues, including the Israel-Palestinian conflict, and are exploring a Free Trade Agreement (FTA). India and Qatar upgraded their ties to a strategic partnership, aiming to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, energy, security, and global forums, said Arun Kumar Chatterjee. They also signed a double taxation avoidance treaty.India and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) are discussing a Free Trade Agreement (FTA). At the same time, India and Qatar are also considering a separate FTA between them. India is open to a bilateral trade deal with Qatar while continuing talks with the GCC. Additionally, both countries are planning to strengthen their partnership, including cooperation on security matters, although no specific timeline has been set.
